Tracciabilità
Given the characteristics of the product we work with and the great attention we pay to the various processes, starting with the 2021/22 production, we will further enhance the value of the product by giving our customer and subsequently the end customer the possibility of being able to trace from start to finish all the processes involved in the realization of the finished product.
The program will concern all types of leather, both game and farmed hides; the two different types will be managed in a slightly different way, but traceability will still be guaranteed that starts from the raw material in the tannery for Saga Furs and FHA, while the game purchased directly by our manager from the collectors authorized by the state authorities, will be identified with RFID at the time of purchase before arriving at the tannery.
The RFID seal (Figure 2) will be pre-loaded or associated through software to specific data such as lot number, quality, color and other information also provided by the auction, the seal will be applied in the next step after the control of the goods in the tannery at the time when the bar codes are removed for the recognition of the leather during grading and sale at auction.
Up to this moment the hides are all perfectly traceable having in both cases a lot membership, a lot invoice, a certificate of origin of the leather and a shipping document referring to the invoices of the same.
After the application of the seal, these steps will be performed:
All these steps are the basis for the creation of data that will be automatically entered into the management system through special instrumentation, to which will also be added the various chemical tests to control the eligibility of the skins according to the limits set by the customer.
At the end of all the processes the RFID tag will be eliminated to be replaced by a code that can be applied to each piece or through an adhesive label on the hanger.
The code can be read through a common scanning program, displaying all the information including scientific name, origin, dates of tanning and other information that will remain anonymous, but, at the same time, will give the final consumer the opportunity to have clear all the path that led to the creation of the finished product.
The customer will be able at any time to know and have all the reference data regarding the material that he is applying to the garment, if applied individually to the product he will be able to verify the data also in the future and have a product traced and traceable for a long time.
In addition to our internal traceability, as of July 2022, our company has been ICEC-certified; certifying traceability on all raw materials, for both livestock and wildlife.
